Two Different Gallery Tours This Weekend: L.E.S. and D.U.M.B.O.

For the first time ever, I’ll be leading TWO different gallery tours in one weekend. On Sat. Sept. 27 at 1:00 PM will be my Lower East Side gallery tour, featuring young, exciting artists from the area’s 125 galleries. Then on Sun. Sept. 28 at 2:00 PM will be my first-ever D.U.M.B.O. Brooklyn gallery tour, and it will also be my first-ever Sunday tour.  D.U.M.B.O. stands for “Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.”

Sunday’s Brooklyn tour coincides with the annual D.U.M.B.O. Arts Festival, an occasion when these galleries offer their best exhibits of the entire year! Besides 5 galleries, we’ll also visit 2 extraordinary artist studios, and hopefully get a chance to speak to those artists. After my D.U.M.B.O. tour is over, spend some time enjoying the FREE outdoor performances and public art works that are specific to the festival.

Brooklyn seems to be the next “frontier” for me. This summer I led my first-ever Brooklyn tour, but it was in Bushwick. And it was fascinating. To my surprise, 48 people showed up for that tour, and the subway to Bushwick wasn’t even all that accessible, even to most people who live in Brooklyn. But the great turn-out was a clear indication that my participants are looking for adventure. Hence my D.U.M.B.O. tour.

And here’s a SPECIAL OFFER: if you attend BOTH gallery tours this weekend, you’ll get THREE frequent tour card stamps total. After 10 stamps, your next tour is free! Don’t have a frequent tour card? I’ll give you one for free on Saturday’s tour.

If this works out, I look forward to even more Brooklyn tours, and more Sunday tours.
