Private Chelsea Gallery Tours All Summer Long on Weekdays

New York’s galleries are open year-round.  In the summer they’re fully air-conditioned and open weekdays – but closed weekends – so in July and August I lead only private gallery tours in Chelsea, the world’s center for contemporary art.  Then, when galleries go back to Saturday openings after Labor Day, I’ll resume my weekly Saturday scheduled tours.  And continue to lead private tours, of course.

A private tour means that you get to arrange the tour to include only people you invite, and also that you get lots of personal attention from me, your guide as well as the director of the whole enterprise.  Just like the rest of the year, in the summer I’ll be visiting all 300 Chelsea exhibits and choosing what I consider to be that week’s 7 most extraordinary shows.  For some galleries the summer is a chance to try out new, more experimental artists.  Other galleries prefer to play it safe.  Our private tours will almost certainly consist of a mix of the best of the two.

Normally my minimum fee is $300 for a private tour.  But this July & August, take advantage of my Summer Special: just $175 will cover up to 4 people in full (and it’s $25 more for each person beyond 4 people).   It’s considerably cheaper than the price of a Broadway theater ticket!  And for larger groups, it’s a flat $25 per person.

Or if you want to save even more money, you can wait until Sept. 14 for my first scheduled Saturday tour of the new season, where it’s just $20 per person, with no minimum.

Stay cool this summer!
